| so. sometimes i use my brother's MacBook, and i noticed that my Rupert icon gets replaced with this:
but on my computer, Rupert is still there. now my question is: who is this guy? also, i'm a little curious about who belongs to this icon. at first i thought it was 80x80 like all of my icons, but evidently lj just resizes it. is this guy more Mac-appropriate or something? i'm not 100% sure, but i think he also showed up when i used my sister's Mac. sorry i haven't been around much, even though my brother got us DSL and a home wireless network for Christmas (my PC finally graduated from dialup yay), so theoretically i should be around more. | |

| Hana Yori Dango on Saturday and Sunday afternoons!!! OMG how much do i love you right now, 27? a whole damn lot! that's how much. plus there's still Love Truly a.k.a I Really Really Like You and my new-ish favorite, Lovers in Prague which i like much much better than Lovers in Paris because, among other things, Ethan Allen was in Prague. so now i'm thinking about whether i really want to do a reread of Hana Yori Dango. because, 200+ chapters. but i love it. but 200+ chapters. and not short cute chapters like School Rumble either. argh, i should've made notes. also, i successfully used my brother's Xbox 360 to watch the dvd that came with Coldplay's X&Y, and the Sharon Cuneta dvd that came with my sister's tv. next time my brother's out, i'll probably use it to watch The Return of the King and skip right to the parts with Éowyn and/or Faramir. | |

| - had most of my hair chopped off. about once a year i get so sick of my terminally difficult hair that i want it done away with. once in a while i actually go through with the ritual sacrifice of my hair.
- watched Cowboy Bebop. my love of Faye Valentine doth increase. the episode's running joke about Beta/VHS is cute.
- did not watch Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. maybe later.
- played Sims 2
- made stupid mistake about my father's birthday, because i thought it would be tomorrow. it's actually today.

| have an absolutely fabulous day, you absolutely fabulous creature! and just in case i won't be online tomorrow... Happy birthday for tomorrow,
JEN! i wish you a day of absolute fabulousness as well. :) interest #103 - terence higgsi screencapped the hell out of his one scene in HPPS. and i sort of resent Draco for replacing him as Seeker on the Slytherin team. @_@ can someone please link me to some good Terence fic/art? that is, if they even exist. or link me to whatever Will Theakston's been doing since he played Terence. thank you. interest #104 - the extraordinary redheaded leaguethat's just my roundabout way of saying "i <3 redheads" (and LXG and Sherlock Holmes)my sister made mac & mushrooms. i <3 it too. - Mood:hb

| my brother's cellphone was stolen from him yesterday. *hatehatehates the dirty thief, whoever the hell he is* this is something i should probably warn you about me: i despise all manner of thieves, robbers, burglars, pickpockets, etc. i don't care _why_ they steal. just know that i hate them for it and want to do violence to them. maybe it's because they've made me a victim before, and i want for anyone who makes me (or those i care about) feel that way to pay for it. dearly. maybe it's because i'm not rich so i get attached to the things that i do have. OK, enough angst. fun with a band meme gack't from justgirl ( here )someone's email sig on the OzMIA ML that made me smile today: Little Faith Yes, I am an agent of Satan, but my work is largely ceremonial. | Kazaa can be very exasperating. or perhaps i should say some Kazaa users are exasperating. i d/l'ed an mp3 purporting to be a cover of "Baby One More Time" by Weezer when it turns out that it was by Travis. i also d/l'ed what i thought was "Say What You Want" by Texas with Wu Tang Clan but it turned out to be something by 50 Cent. argh. label your files properly, ppl!
my mother left for Canada again this morning. she'll probably be quarantined when she gets there bcause her flight was scheduled to stop over in HK. damn SARS.
good news for today: we are now in possession of CoS on video. thank goodness. - Mood:aggravated
 - Music:too aggravated for music right now.

| went to see Johnny English this afternoon with Jill, Thel & Edward. had hopes that we might watch Equilibrium bcause of my mad lurv for Christian Bale, but Thel's brother had already seen it, so... JE it was. but not before we (again) mistakenly went into the other cinema which was showing Just Married. i'm getting used to this wandering into the wrong cinema by mistake now. overall, i liked the movie despite my ick with the toilet humor bcause Rowan Atkinson is so extremely silly, and his assistant in the movie was adorable: at first i thought the guy's name was Buff, or Boff, but it turned out that it's spelled Bough. *g* John Malkovich's French accent was insane; Jill thought he was flamingly gay in his role. Natalie Imbruglia still annoys me but i gotta admit she's very pretty. i like British movies. Jill and i were paranoid about leaving the house bcause recently some people have been mugged by guys on motorcycles, on the street fronting our neighborhood. i wish i didn't feel this way: i hate being afraid, i hate feeling like a victim. edited to add my pic spam of the moment: squeeeeeeeee! Ben "Buff" Miller wearing a Julius the monkey shirt!!! this will of course make no sense to you unless you know who else i love who also wears them. the Julius shirt, in red, on that other guy i love.( she's so lovely. )- Mood:frustrated

| i like saying "mah peeps" ^.^ new userpic: Lav/Fred is now...George/Cho. Jill helped me manip. even though she thinks i am loony for 'shipping couples JKR never intended. probably. i <3 my baby sister. also dorkily amused by the name of the font i used on it: "Twelve Ton Sushi" which makes me think of F&G's Ton-Tongue Toffee, and Cho quite possibly being Asian. anyway icon was originally Will/Paige from YA. yes it's true, i enjoy being mean to Scout. heheheheheh. whooops, just one more thing. shout out to huckadickabrr & fidgetgoblinfly: the angsty!Éowyn pic is adorable! *worships* Siriusly considering: buying What Lies Beneath, mostly bcause it's got Mirry Otto. double whooops, and another one more thing: we watched Sweet Home Alabama night before last. it was cute. Reese W, and Ethan Embry! <3 awww, A Far Off Place flashbacks. except...Bobby Ray's gay. ^_^ i wanted for Patrick Dempsey to be gay in this movie too (like in Will & Grace bcause he & Will made a cute couple) so he & Bobby Ray could have made a looove connection, but alas, it was not to be. or maybe Bobby Ray could've gone with Drue Valentine from The Creek — in the story he was a friend of Patrick's. oh well. this movie provided fodder for my theory that men who make glass make pretty good husbands. (cf. The Glass Heart by Sally Gardner) erm. it's a very fragile theory, at best. - Mood:hungry

| typing this all out before i forget the stuff i wanted to put here: we (mum, bro, sis & i + 2 of mum's friends) went to Mr A's last night. food was good. view was awe-inspiring. i missed Smallville but didn't mind too much. we karaoke'd — several Carpenters songs (i love you, Karen!) and i just had to do "Wonderwall" ^_^ when we got home, i tried to finish Liberty Heights (ADRIENNN!!!) but was too sleepy and now it's due back at the video place so i'm prolly just going to have to buy my own if i can find it bcause i liked what i did see of it. ( behold my latent feminist side. )( and since i can't have Adrien, i enjoy seeing *her* with him. )- Mood:A-OK

| last Saturday, had Boston cream pie & coffee @ Oh Georg with Thel & Beth (it was Beth's belated birthday treat) — they had the green tea cheesecake & Oreo cheesecake respectively. good stuff. yesterday, my lil sister — of whom i am very justly proud — passed her thesis defense; my bro txted me that all 5 panelists liked her presentation of her ad campaign. then they (just my sibs Jill & Alex, they didn't take the panelists with them) went to see Daredevil. i couldn't go with them bcause i was still @ work, but when i got home i pigged out then started Lilo & Stitch without them. which was bad of me, i know, but my rented videos are due today! am going to see Ben Affleck & Colin Farrell in formfitting leather later, either with Thel & Gen or with Dred. also watched Samurai Jack last night, liked the stylisticness of it all, and am tickled that the archvillain's voice is Mako. fell asleep on couch in front of tv. again. | Jill & Alex (the "lil" brother, occasionally annoying but he's not that bad really) made spaghetti, with cream sauce :) Alex also got us a *gallon* of Chocolate Marble ice cream (with extra thick dark chocolate ripple, or at least that's what it said on the label), even though there's only 5 of us in the house {lol} and there was lovely fried chicken, and iced tea. if you wonder how i got my dear younger siblings so well-behaved, that's easy. you show them who's boss early on, and things will flow smoothly from there. juuust kidding, Jill & Alex. not that they read my lj or anything. {looking around suspiciously} anyway, Alex's friend Anton has the same birfday (i love saying it this way now, sickboy9!) as me. so does my best friend's boyfriend. and Pablo Picasso. Anton has a theory about why there seems to be a lot of us born around this date. it's bcause 9 months before it would be about February 14, and well...you can see where his theory's coming from, can't ya? ;) i think it's fundamentally sound. - Mood:happy

| earlier Thel (the best friend) and Jill (the lil sister) and i met up and went to Ice Castles. it's an ice cream parlor sort of place. but we had dimsum for lunch there. kinda like when Lorelai and Rory mentioned Thai food was served at Al's Pancake World. {LOL}
i also had sizzling beef stew. in a skillet. it made me feel like i was at home and couldn't be bothered to transfer the stew into an actual dish before i ate it. {grin} - Mood:happy, as in "happy birthday"

| happy birthday to my "lil" sister! sweetie, it appears that you have the same birthday as Lindsay Sloane (y'know...Marcy from Grosse Pointe, Val from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Big Red from Bring It On?) :) hey, i know! let's go crash her party! {goof} btw, on this day in 1978, Garfield the large, lasagna-eating cat created by Jim Davis, first appeared in a comic strip. the comic strip on for your exact birthday was this one. heh. i noticed that i typed "prefect" when i meant to say "perfect" in my last post -- clearly, a certain redhaired Gryffindor with the surname of Weasley must be on my mind... - Mood:good
